Yoga asan Category 1 : Concentration B

Swastikasan

So swastik which was turned upside down by nazis and ruined forever actually has a deep significance in indian culture. We draw it on every festive occasion. Swastik means auspicious. So this pose makes you happier. 

When you do pranayam breathing exercise, sit in this asan. 

It helps people whose legs get too sweaty or too cold. It relieves leg pain too. 

How to

Sit like the picture. You are in gyan mudra. Spine and neck are straight but tension less. Eyes are closed sofly. Cocentrate on agyachakra, indigo one.

SUKHASANA

Benefits

This is the easiest one to start with. You can sit in this pose for as long as you want.  It improves your posture, reduces any kind of tension trapped in lower thighs and cures fatigue.

It helps you balance breathing, inhalation exhalation take equal time.

It calms you down.

How to

Sit like the picture. So one leg is directly below another knee. Your spine and neck are straight but there is no tension. Your hands are in gyan mudra. Eyes close softly. You are not thinking anything at all. Your focus is agyachakra in indigo .

Why YOGA? Physical aspects

Well spirituality is not enough for us, as creatures with the most fragile body that can stop functioning with a minor bug, what we really need to do first is have a healthy body.

Yoga helps with proper blood flow to all the organs, aids in digestion, respiration. It makes heart, kidneys, lungs healthier. So when you feel good, you do every task with happiness and good will. You end up enjoying even house chores. Taking out trash, loading dishes in dishwasher, doing laundry almost every routine mundane daily activities are somehow fun and never tire you. If you are stress free, your body cells regenerate fast. That actually makes yogis look ageless.

Your immunity peaks which helps you avoid diseases, even if you get one your body cures it rapidly. This happens because all your body organs are doing their job perfectly in sync. Yoga helps with mental purity too.

When a normal educated person looks at something, they apply all the logics and practicalities to it. When a yogi looks at the same thing, they see what it is, not exaggerated not imaginary just the reality of it. This comes from experience with practice.

Yoga helps people with anger issues. Yoga helps you balance life, if you drive a car but breaks don't work its of no use. You can run fast but you don't know when to stop. You are always working and you simply don't know how to pause and rest. You do have a lot of energy but somehow you are not using it well. You have earned a lot of money but instead of using it for charity you are stocking up. This is not life, If you are going for yoga and still stuck in all this, save yoga class money too.

Usually people pay way too much attention to their outer beauty but yoga makes you beautiful from inside, it gives you a beautiful heart mind body.

With yoga, clarity of thoughts comes, you become humble stable and kinder. Everyone looks beautiful to you.

Yoga brings discipline to your life. It creates excitement. Along with purity of thoughts and behavior, you start getting above minor things.

So if you want a healthy body, happy life, satisfaction, deep knowledge of universe practice yoga with full integrity.

Why yoga ? Behavioral aspects

Imagine the moment you finally bought your iphone or your party dress and posted it all on instagram. It was the feeling of getting something valuable to you.

When you get something, you feel attracted and all excited about it which pretty much keeps you going. Like my initial months of yoga classes kept me fueled up. When we saw burlesque first time, we felt the rush of 3 drinks but then consequently every hobby faded. Yoga has become a routine now, burlesque shows are super expensive that we want to go for. Haha people even fall out of love with their own kids when they turn teenagers. That is human nature. We get bored.

So no matter what you like or love, one day you will part with it.

To run after commodities, to be greedy for it, to just think of having it  is most stupid wastage of our lifeform.

Then what should we really strive for, answer is not yoga, it is in yoga . Yes there is a difference.

If you think you have mastered all the poses in hot yoga class and forgot to smile all day, its all ruined because one day this will be boring too.

We all want happiness and  peace in your house, family, neighbors, whole block, whole city, whole country , whole universe. To implement this, yoga gives you the courage.

To live a beautiful and sorted life with a kind illuminating personality is yoga.

Everyone needs yoga from school kids to old people in wheel chairs. We need yoga to fulfill worldly responsibilities successfully.

Live and Let live : What is yoga?

 " वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम "

सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः

Whole world belongs to one family. Every human has a part of god's consciousness. We are all alike. Then why do we have feelings like jealousy, greed, enmity, discrimination, stress.

Materialistic things can never give you contentment and peace. Real happiness lies in healthy body mind heart. It lies in static good mood not variable sparks of momentary illusions.

Soul and god meet in yoga. Seeing yourself in others and seeing others in you and appreciating the differences along with similarities is life. Its in all the different experiences we all go through and still we are all connected somehow.

You are not the body or mind or wisdom or intelligence. You are just a small matter that runs on consciousness supported by a lot of microbes inside you. We have a lot of food chains springing inside us. So if you think you are ultimate creation, you are fooling yourself.

We are all part of that living form that first evolved that is everywhere in water, earth , air and in every single organism that roams this planet. This life form inside us nurtures us protects us.

Reaching the depth of this is Yoga.

So then why should we live if we are just a bunch of microbes? You live to help others in their life. Understand the meaning of life. My body is disease free, I got billions, respect in society, am I living it to fullest? Nope this is not what we were supposed to do, to turn into walking living self appreciating ants.

To be the one with your soul is life. Now soul is not the ghostly creature that lives and leaves when we die. Its the feeling of being alive, when all your organs work in synchronicity, you get a functioning body, you feel healthy , you feel happy when you are around friends family. Mentally we depend a lot on others, even our baristas have the power to make our day bad. Take back that power, soul is just a term used to define your aliveness quotient. Every person is different and that is why every soul is different because there are different things that trigger our emotions. So instead of taking every stupid incident to heart, forgive and forget. That is how you train yourself. To be one with your soul is to be with yourself. The more you know yourself, more you train and work on your own body mind, more you feel closer to soul.

This is the life we all should strive for.

This is the life that will give us real happiness.

If every human attained this state, there would be world peace.
